Bio
Farzad Radfar is a doctoral researcher within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network HARNESS - Harnessing AI and Data-Intensive Technologies enrolled at Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Paulius Pakutinskas (MRU) and co-supervision of Prof. Dr. Martin Ebers (University of Tartu). His project examines how the emerging EU regulatory framework for artificial intelligence, in particular the EU AI Act, reshapes firms’ competitive advantages. Building on a background in competition law and global governance of digital platforms, his research explores how regulatory interventions interact with data-driven business models, innovation incentives, and market structure in the EU.
Farzad holds an LL.M. in International Business Law from the University of Lausanne, where his thesis analysed the proliferation of digital platforms and resulting gaps in global governance with respect to competition law and Big Data. These interdisciplinary experiences inform his interest in how law, technology, and markets co-evolve in data-intensive environments.
