Bio

Meem is an interdisciplinary researcher from South Asia looking for ways to transcend boundaries of knowledge domains and geography. A graduate in computer science from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh, they worked at Fujitsu Research Institute in Tokyo before joining BRAC University in their home country as a lecturer of mathematics and data science. They are a recent alumnus of the European Master’s in Law, Data and AI from Dublin City University in Ireland and Universidad de León in Spain, and have also worked with INCIBE, the National Cybersecurity Institute of Spain, and the School of Religion, Theology, and Peace Studies at Trinity College Dublin as a researcher and technical consultant.

Meem is currently appointed as a doctoral candidate at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid within the Harness Network under Dr. Elena Montiel-Ponsoda and Dr. Víctor Rodríguez-Doncel, focusing on the concept of sectoral and regional data spaces and their possibilities and limitations. When not investing time in studying technology policy, they read non-fiction on history, listen to podcasts, and travel extensively. Meem also speaks six languages, but not all of them with equal fluency.
